           INJ-218 FCA Compact Engine & Electronic Diagnostics
(C-Evo, Dodge Dart, Jeep Cherokee, ‘14 up Chrysler 200)
Chrysler reintroduced the Dodge Dart name in 2012 as a 2013 model. The Dart has 3 engine options. The 2.0
Litre 16V Tigershark engine/the 2.4 Litre 16V Multi-Air 2/ and the 1.4 Litre 16V Muti-Air Turbo. There are 3
transmission options. A 6 speed manual/a 6 speed automatic and a 6 speed dual clutch. The 6 speed manual
is available with all engines while the Powertech 6F24-6 speed automatic is only available with the 2.0 L and
2.4 L engine options and the 6 speed dual clutch is only available with the 1.4L Turbocharged engine. There
are 5 different models available from base to the sporty GT including an Aero model featuring economy
enhancing features such as electronically controlled active grille shutters. The Limited model features an 8.4
inch multi function touch screen. The Dart is also equipped with numerous electronic safety features
including Stability and Traction Control, , Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection. In this class
we will look at the features of the 3 available engines, including the Multi-Air system, as well as the electronic
controls for the engines and various other systems on the vehicle.

We have added 4 new training courses (2 Web-based and 2 TechTube courses) to the training website this December.

The Web-Based training (WBT) course codes and outlines are below:

Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) – S-DS11-04.03WBT
This course covers vibration theory and the operation of components that may cause abnormal noise or vibration concerns. It also covers diagnosis techniques, such as road tests, and test equipment used in diagnosing vibration concerns.

GM Braking Systems 6 – S-BK05-17.01WBT
This course provides an overview of the motor on caliper parking brake system. Topics covered include the motor, system components, operation, enabling criteria, and service procedures. Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to explain the components, operation, enabling criteria, and service of the motor on caliper parking brake system.

This video shows how to verify if a front axle actuator is operating using a scan tool and how the actuator connects the front axles together.
